Weekly Group Hikes and Mountain Bike rides
Each Tuesday at 6 PM we will host group hiking events. Each Wednesday we will host group mountain biking events. Watch Facebook for locations to meet and more details.
April 11th 2025 – Family Fun Bingo
The ETA hosted a family friendly Bingo night to raise funds for our Boivin Cabin Loop Trail project. The community, sponsors and volunteers all showed up and we had a blast! Thank you!



February 15th 2025 – Winter in the Wild
The ETA hosted the fireworks viewing Snowshoe event during the Winter in the Wild community event this year:
February 14th 7:30-9:30pm we hosted a Group Snowshoe for a Unique viewing of the Fireworks display. We snowshoed on PIZZA PIIZA in the ETA’s winter groomed trail in the TMNT network. The snowshoe was an easy 9% grade for just over 1km. Family friendly. Free event and prizes were available!

January 2025 Elk Valley Streak
For the month of January, get outside and be active for 30 minutes or more while supporting Elk Valley Family Society.

September 21st 2024 – ETA Poker Event
The ETA hosted a social event on the trails where hikes, bikers and runners completed at set coarse and collected tokens to use towards the best poker hand. Hiker April Reynolds came in with the best hand and won the grand prize package valued at over $400 from local vendors. Thank you to all of our event sponsors, volunteers, Elkford Search and Rescue and participants! This was a great day out on the trails. Thank you Sponsors: Legacy Ford, EVR, KAPPS, Westridge Rock, Komatsu, Tathlina’s Pottery, Wonderland Clinical Esthetics, Fernie Roasting Co, Kootenay Market, Elkford IDA, Sue Wagner Pottery, Elkford Search and Rescue and Noteworthy Coffee, for their donations of supplies and prizes.

September 18th – Heroes and Half Shell official trail opening event
The ETA hosted a celebration for the official opening of our 2 volunteer trail builds Heroes (2024) and Half Shell (2023). Volunteers and supporters celebrated the hard work and excellent new trail additions to Elkford. The event finished with a mountain bike loop up Turtle Power and down Heroes into Half Shell while dressed in “Heroes” outfits!

Fall 2024 Monday trail clearing events
Volunteers cleared 4km of trail on the Boivin Cabin Loop trail. Weekly monday trail clearing events and additional popup trail days allowing additional work to be completed including the base of the Boivin creek bridge crossing. We could not have done this without the support of our volunteers and sponsors. Thank you to the District of Elkford for the use of equipment and operator to set the bridge stringers in place. Thank you to the Elk Valley Thrift Shop and Stellervista Credit union for your grant money to keep our volunteers on the trail and moving this project ahead.

June 1st – Transcanada Trail Care on BC trails day
The ETA hosted a work day and volunteer appreciation lunch for Transcanada TrailCare and BC Trails day. We maintained 3 KM of Transcanada trail South of Elkford that had recently seen logging activity. Event was sponsored by TransCanada Trail TrailCare and Outdoor Recreation Council of BC.

June 28th and 29th – Elkford WIldcat Days
The ETA hosted beer gardens during the District of Elkford Wildcat days events. Thank you to our volunteers for your many hours and help for fundraising with this event. Thank you to Elkford and guests for your support.
anuary 2024 – Elk Valley Streak
30 minutes of ourdoor activity everyday for the month of January. Promoting mental health through the darkest (and often coldest) month of the year all while supporting a non-profit that supports the Elk Valley. This years recipient was Elk Valley Suicide Task Force.

September 25th 2023- Volunteer Appreciation
The ETA is very thankful for all of our volunteer support over the past 3 years. We celebrated volunteerism with the ETA at the community meeting place where we had a fire, snacks and drinks. Thank you for everybody who could attend, it was a great celebration!

September 16th 2023 – Elk Valley Epic
The ETA , alongside the Sparwood Trails Alliance and Fernie Trails Alliance hosted the “Elk Valley Epic”. This event brought participants together to challenge themselves and others to ride, run or walk from Elkford to Fernie (or any distance in between) all while raising funds for the trails in the Elk Valley. Thank you to all the businesses who sponsored and to our participants for pulling together and raising money for our trails!


July and August 2023 Wapiti Ski hill showdown
The ETA hosted a quickest time challenge up Wapiti Ski Hill for the summer months. First men’s and women’s time received $200 visa gift cards sponsored by Clarkson Contracting LTD. Great participation from the community! Thank you Clarkson for sponsoring and Sheena for hosting!




February 16-18th 2024 – Winter in the Wild
The ETA hosted 3 events during the Winter in the Wild community event this year:

February 17th 2-4:00pm – Snowshow and Fatbike trials – The ETA winter grooming crew groomed a trail through the Boivin Peace park for a chance to try snowshoeing or fatbiking. Bikes and snowshoes were supplied at no charge by the ETA. We had merchandise and memberships for sale. We also provided information for trail best practices including tips and trick to tire pressure.
February 18th 3-5:00pm – Group Fatbike ride – We hosted a group fat bike ride on the groomed trails in the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” network. The event was also a free event.
July 1st 2023 – Wildcat days bike skills competition
The ETA hosted a bike skills competition that ran in the afternoon of July 1st. The event was open to all ages and provided prized to many participants including 1st and 2nd place and both men’s and women’s categories. Big shoutout to our sponsor and thank you to our participants for spending some of your Wildcat day celebrations with us!


June 30th and July 1st 2023 – Wildcat days beer gardens
The ETA hosted the Wildcat days beer gardens which ran both nights from 6pm until midnight. The event raised funds for Elkford’s non-motorized trail network. There was live music both evenings and the beer garden was hosted outdoors at the District of Elkford gazebo by ETA volunteers. Thank you Elkford (and beyond) for your support. Shoutout to the District of Elkford for the celebration and space to host such a great event!
